Building Permit Technician Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Building Permits Technician include:
  • Building permit applications
  • Calculation of fees
  • Issuance of permits
  • Basic review of plans for building
The technician also receives, logs, routes, and tracks various permit applications which are received. The technician also reviews permit applications, plans, and specifications to make sure that all documents are in compliance with the appropriate codes, ordinances, and standards.

Also, the technician provides information and assistance to developers, contractors, homeowners, members of the public, and other public agencies at the Building Safety office, by telephone, and by email.

Requirements
Please download and fill out a Building Permit Application (PDF) and provide the following additional information:
  • Plans and/or drawings with the scope of work to be done
    • 2 sets are required for residential properties
    • 5 sets for commercial properties
  • Site Plan
